The “Higher Power” maxi-single has been designed for everyone to enjoy and features the soulful voice of American Idol finalist Donnie Williams and the powerful Saxophone accompaniment of the Toni Tone Tony’s Vincent Lars. Also featured is Braxton Brothers Bassist Nelson Braxton who is currently on tour with Michael Bolton, Prince Keyboardist and Organist Sundra “Sun” Manning, plus background vocals by top American Idol finalist LaToya London. Its greatest use will be as a self-help meditation tool for people who are in early recovery from addictions of all types and who follow one of the twelve step programs of recovery. This is truly an uplifting track that will be loved and enjoyed by all music lovers all over the world. The CD also includes the track “Music Land” which features vocals by Donnie, his sister Terrell, Derick Hughes from the Prince camp, Denise Stewart, who has traveled the world with Norman Connors, and Michael Cheadle former lead vocalist with the Park Place band. This song is reminescent of a Sly Stone tinged “We Are the World” track.
There also is a wonderful twelve step monologue featuring Paul Tillman Smith and Yolandra Rhoades which will be a great study tool for those who follow the twelve steps of recovery. “Darkness to the Light” which features tender vocals by Donnie and his sister Terrell is also a wonderful track. Adding variety is the “Higher Power” bonus track featuring Donnie’s mentor, vocalist Freddie Hughes’s who is the father of Derick Hughes along with internationally renowned Tenor Saxophonist Pharaoh Sanders, and Ahmad Jamal’s guitarist Calvin Keys. Marvin Gaye’s venerable pianist Michael Stanton is also featured on the track.
The “Higher Power” maxi-single has been sanctioned by the offices of (AA) Alcohol Anonymous in New York. Considering that AA is an anonymous program this permission comes because of their feeling that the “The Power” Maxi-Single contains the power to help addicts in early recovery and most importantly that all net proceeds from the sale of this product will go to benefit individuals and organizations involved in supporting people recovering from all types of addictions.
This beautiful collection of songs has the capacity to inspire and motivate individuals with a positive message and musical experience. It is already known that the “Higher Power” single has already spiritually and physically saved lives and some are already calling it the “National Anthem of Recovery”.
Marketing & Promotions
A unique marketing plan is in effect for this Maxi-CD. The angelic single “Higher Power” will be serviced by Chumpchange Records to both Urban and Gospel radio, Internet radio and Religious Radio Programmers across the nation and world. A national non-profit campaign will soon follow. Other than the manufacturing, royalties, and marketing cost, it is Chumpchange Records desire to give as many CD’s of “The Power” away for free to anyone who truly needs it. Our non-profit wing “The Higher Power Project” wants to be able to assist recovering addicts in their recovery by offering scholarships and other opportunities to addicts as they attempt to better their lives. “The Higher Power Project” in partnerships with Religious and Recovery Organizations will develop a unique promotion plan that will include praise teams distributing flyers, posters, stickers and t-shirts. In addition a thirty second tv and radio commercial is also in consideration to be aired on Gospel and local cable stations is select cities. A national tour of Recovery Program’s, Recovery Conventions and Churches of all faiths who have a recovery component is being planned.
